Built after 1862 as the successor to Old Nenthorn House, our three-storey mansion was crafted by Edinburgh architect Thomas Leadbetter in the distinguished Jacobethan style, drawing on both Elizabethan and Jacobean design traditions.

Today, we honor that heritage by offering a setting where historic character meets modern hospitality. Our estate provides couples with a venue that carries more than a century of architectural significance, balanced with the comfort, service, and flexibility required for seamless weddings and events.

We’re proud to share our beautiful estate and to host celebrations that become part of its ongoing history.

The Venue

Nenthorn House is set just outside Kelso, in the heart of the Scottish Borders. Our estate sits among rolling countryside, peaceful woodland, and the kind of open views that make this part of Scotland feel spacious and grounded all at once.

Kelso itself is a historic market town, known for its cobbled square, riverside walks, and classic Borders charm. With easy access from Edinburgh and the surrounding towns, we offer a setting that feels private and rural without being remote.

It’s a place where guests can slow down, take in the landscape, and enjoy a celebration framed by the natural beauty of the Borders.

Where timeless elegance meets rare exclusivity.

Our comprehensive wedding service ensures your special day is flawlessly executed, from elegant design to meticulous coordination. Trust our experienced team to bring your vision to life with precision and excellence.

We work with a hand-selected network of esteemed wedding vendors who know Nenthorn House intimately and uphold the highest standards of service. Their expertise, paired with the estate’s attentive coordination, ensures every detail is handled with precision.

To preserve the quality and privacy of our events, we accept only a limited number of weddings each year, allowing your day to receive our full, undivided commitment.
